Remote File Access (COH an Tiradito)

For Windows

1. Download WinSCP Installation Package from http://winscp.net/eng/download.php.

2. Install Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client from http://vpn.arizona.edu, (note IP address is 206.207.248.58 but shouldn't need to enter this). Enter Username and Password (NetID credentials), and a NetID+ method.  You will need to use NetID+ to connect using VPN.  Please see the NetID+ website for more information:  https://webauth.arizona.edu/netid-plus/

  • Click 'Connect'. Click 'Accept' and wait while client configures/updates/connects.

3. Launch WinSCP, if the Session tab is not already open, click the Session dropdown on the leftside of the window. Check that the File Protocol (drop-down at top of window) is set to SFTP.

  • For COH Account:  Host name, enter: coh.arizona.edu. Enter your NetID user name, click the Save... option to save/close window.
  • For Tiradito Account:  Host name, enter: diablo.tiradito.arizona.edu. Enter Tiradito user name, click the Save... option to save/close window.

4. Double-click the new stored session you created and enter your NetID or Tiradito password when prompted. To the right, you'll see a list of network shares you have access to, including 'Home', which is your H: drive. The left side of the window is your local drive. Drag file(s) from the right side to the left side folder to transfer them. Note: Do not open files directly from the left panel -- you must browse to/open the file(s) from the location on your hard drive you transferred to. When finished working on the file(s), drag back to right side remote folder.

5. When finished transferring files, close out WinSCP and Disconnect from Cisco client.

For Mac OS X

1. Download Fetch from http://fetchsoftworks.com & extract to your desktop or Applications folder.

2. Install Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client from http://vpn.arizona.edu, (note IP address is 206.207.248.58 but shouldn't need to enter this). Enter Username and Password (NetID credentials), and a NetID+ method.  You will need to use NetID+ to connect using VPN.  Please see the NetID+ website for more information:  https://webauth.arizona.edu/netid-plus/

  • Click 'Login'.  Click 'Accept' and wait while client configures/updates/connects.  

3. Launch Fetch, click Shortcuts -> New Shortcut from the menu bar at the top of the screen to save a new bookmark. Change Connect using: to SFTP.

  • For COH Account:  Hostname, enter: coh.arizona.edu  Enter NetID user name, click OK to save/close window.
  • For Tiradito Account:  Hostname, enter: diablo.tiradito.arizona.edu Enter Tiradito user name, click OK to save/close window.

4. Double-click new bookmark you created and enter your NetID or Tiradito password when prompted. You'll see a list of network shares you have access to, including 'Home', which is your H: drive. Drag file(s) from Fetch to your desktop or documents folder to work on them. Drag back to remote folder in Fetch when done. You can also click the Edit button, which will save back to the server everytime you save the document on your computer.

5. When finished transferring files, close out Fetch and Disconnect from Cisco client.
