Content Editor Tools

Heading 1

Heading 1 is always assigned to the page title so you will rarely, if ever, use it in the body of the page. As you can see, the title 'Heading 1' is the same size as 'Content Editor Tools', and it creates instant visual confusion to see two titles given the same priority.

Headings 2 - 5 will be your main arsenal of style choices for titles.

Heading 6

I'm not really sure what to make of Heading 6. It is so close to regular body text that I haven't found a good reason to use it yet. It looks like it is a slightly softer color and just a bit bolder, but not really enough to make it needed. But, hey, we will keep an open mind for future uses.

Making Sense of H6

Creating a Highlight Section

Here is an example of a block of text set in the 'leading' option in the Style drop down menu. The leading text is a larger font size and has more space between the lines which makes it appealing for an introduction that can catch a reader's attention quickly.

Here is an example of a normal block of text with no extra styles to contrast the leading style. It is best to keep the highlight section (the block using the 'leading' style) somewhat short. A couple lines of text, either one or two sentences, makes for the best visual presentation. In general, you should strive to keep the introductory section smaller in size than the regular block of text so it feels like an introduction to a bigger piece of content.

Creating a Block Quote

"Sometimes I like to use the block quote feature to add visual texture to the page."
Katherine Leyton

And see how the name is smaller in that example? That trick is not built in to the block quote style, but if you like it, just select that piece of text, go over to the style drop down menu and select 'Text Size Small'.
