In case you missed it or just ignore mass communication blurbs - your email is being filtered by a new anti-spam and phishing service (the old one didn't actually tell you when it threw away shady emails).
This new service will send digests up to 3x day if it stopped an email from arriving in your Inbox since the last digest (that it sent to you).
And it will say "You have new held messages" - this is your personal email bouncer - rugged, muscular arms and dark sunglasses, with one job, to stop shady email from reaching your Inbox. And since it knows your time is important, it slides you a list of emails that it has stopped at the club entrance, and you get to decide to let them in, block them completely, or just ignore them and leave them shuffling in line outside...for 14 days. After 14 days, they are routed to the same alley with the garbage bins, hidden away but with a log of their activity. You can search for them in your "Personal Portal" (very powerful, it's like the logbook of bouncer activity).
Now, let's say some of the riffraff did make it to your Inbox - what happened there? You want to block these disreputable actors - and to the "Personal Portal" we go. You can do an empty search (go to the Search icon, choose a timeframe and search without entering any other data) - and look for the night the rabble made their way past your bouncers...ah, there's one, Amelia Wilson. And BLOCK -> goodbye Amelia, you can peddle your IT wares elsewhere in the future.
This is the nature of these (somewhat annoying) digests, but they are just reminders of the true power that UITS has bestowed upon you. And so, your toolset to protect yourself is one weapon greater, and if you have any questions about the finer details of this service, you can use some of the campus resources listed below or just reach out to us.
